  2. Hi Andy,

    thanks for that.

It's good to hear that you still enjoy the stuff - I do to - as much as back in the day. It was such a formative period - I'll carry those lessons to the grave.

I too have top memories of gigging with the Mau Maus - were you at the Meltham gig? That was a bit hairy - lots of skins running amok and scaring the beJesus out of folk.

Anyway, take it easy yourself Andy - and whilst trucking, remember; objects in the rear-view mirror....

    Best Wishes
    Si

  4. Howdo Nogsy,

    hows things fella?

I forgot all about this blogging thing ;0},
btw! no it wasn't Meltham Gig, I'm sure it was Oddy's in Oldham in the very early 80's plenty of good do's up at that place, i lived in Salford at the time, i was on the run from a secure unit near Irlam, they took my Stiff Little Fingers album off me as punishment for doing a previous bunk, so thought have this then, and proceeded to throw a wardrobe out of a window to do another runner and ended up at Oddy's with a couple of older lads, what memories man, Broken Bones, Mau Maus, Angelic Upstarts, you lot, and others, 'til the Skinheads was meant to have burnt that place down, me at 14 and 15yrs of age what an introduction to a 30yr passion. When i remember my mam and dad say "oh those were the days", i know exactly what they meant now. I am constantly telling my 20yr old daughter the same thing with a little grin to myself. Cheers fella. I check in soon take care m8, Andy.

  5. Oddy's, yes I remember bits of that night Andy - but I can't recall who else played - can you? We had a falling out with the manager - said we'd not brought enough people with us and refused to cough-up any cash - all we were asking for was petrol money - tight bastard he was - I slagged him off in an interview with Stepping Out - I sort of regret that now. You say the venue was burnt down?

    Thanks for that Andy.
    Take care
    Si

  6. Huge thanks to the guys at NoF - Slaugther of Innocents for tracking down the Demo/Practice tape. I've been looking for a copy for donkey's years. Very strange hearing those tracks after such a long time.

    More about the songs later.

    Cheers
    Si
